Special Olympics Basketball

On Thursday, my class and I went on the school van to go to our Basketball game at Selwyn College, then we went into the ASB Stadium Kohimarama.

First we went to sit down on the chairs and then we went down the stairs and sat on the Basketball court to wait for the lady to say the announcement.

The first team we played are quite good in their defense and shooting. The points were 10-19.

The second team was very good at their shooting and their attacking. The points were 8-20.

The third team that we played were very good at their shooting, defense and attacking and the points were 11-16.

The last team that we played was fun and we won, the points were 10-6.

When the games were finished we went down to the court and sat down and waited for the awards in each court. We came 4th place and we played 4 games, it was a tough game and I had fun and enjoyed myself.

Tonal Value - Visual Arts 

I learnt a variety of drawing techniques: cross hatching, hatching, Accent lines, Tonal, Scumble and Smudge. 

Tonal Value is created by drawing more lines and by sketching how darker it is.

I enjoyed smudging the lines by doing the lines in the circle and then I smudge it with my finger, that's why I enjoyed smudging and that's what I enjoyed the most.

On Saturday my family and I went to my dad’s friends baby’s birthday party and we had fun there and when it was finished we went home and relaxed and watched a movie and it was my Grandad’s birthday and so I didn’t get a chance to give it to him but I am going to give the card to him tomorrow after the school.

On Sunday we did the housework and my mum, my baby brother Chad and I went to New World and did our shopping there and there stuff were expensive there and my mum said that we are not going back there again and then we came home and had lunch and just watched a movie with our family for dinner.

Tough Guy and Tough Girl Challenge 2017

Yesterday morning at 7:00am I got to school and I saw Loni, Sa, Raewen, Flora, Lucy, Ben, Moala, Hex, Ozee, Mrs Hamer, Mrs Paasi, Sione, Spencer, Jessie and Elizabeth.

Then when we were waiting for Ozee we had a little play and I got changed into my clothes that I was going to wear to the Tough Girl and Tough Guy Challenge. We said a pray before we got into the vans.

Then after that we grabbed our bags and put them in the boot of the van and we hopped in 2 vans. The boys went in the school van that says Tamaki College and the girls went in the Hire ace van and the seats were comfortable to sit on. Then we put our seat belts on.

Then we left school to go to the Tough Challenge and it took a long time to get there, so when we got there we got out and got changed into our T-shirts that says Tamaki College and then we put our race numbers on the front of our T-shirts and my race number was 14005 and the color of our race numbers was orange and so when it was our turn to race we started running and when I got to the mud I ran on it and then one of my shoe’s got stuck and I started to get my shoe out of the mud gently and then I went to the other side of the mud where Loni went on and then I ran.

Then when I got to the water I had to jump into the cold water and then I started getting cold and I jumped out at the other side. As I was walking, my shoe got stuck in the mud again and I needed help to pull my shoe out.

When I got to Raewen and Flora I walked with them and then we stuck together to the finish line. Near the end we had to crawl under a tunnel.

I felt happy and excited after completing the race and it was fun.

Thursday 30 March 2017: Athletics Special Olympics at Mt Smart Stadium

Special Olympics

On Thursday it was a sunny day and we went in the school van to Mt Smart for our Special Olympics. I was sitting next to Flora, Raewen was sitting by the door. When we got to Mt Smart Stadium we went and sit down on the chairs facing the field. Flora did the 200 metres and she came first.
Finally it was time for the 100 metres race Raewen and I did  the race. Raewen came 1st and I almost came 2nd but then I came 3rd.
