Winter Holiday Learning Journey

Hello, if you don't already know I am a blog post about Milo of Kroton because I am participating in the winter learning journey. If you don't know what Winter Learning Journey is it's for kids who have nothing to do in the holidays and this is for us kids to blog about these different activity's. Right now I am doing activity 2 and I have to right 3 interesting facts about Milo of Kroton.

Milo of Kroton was born over 2,00 years ago in ancient Greek colony of southern Italy, he won the Olympic wrestling championship six times between 540 BCE and 516 BCE. His strength is so great that once, when a building collapsed he supported the roof while his friends escaped safe and unharmed.

The story of how Milo got his strenth has been told for over 2,00 years. His farther gave him a bull calf for his son to raise each day his farther would ask Milo "How big is your bull today?" and Milo would run outside pick up the calf and carried it inside to show his farther. They would have that same routine everyday as the bull grew older and so did Milo's strength.

Milo has also won seven crowns at the Pythian ganes at Delphi ( one as a boy ), ten at the isthmian games, and nine at the Nemean games.

These are all the information I have about Milo of Kroton I hope you find something interesting about this I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will have more blog posts coming up to keep coming to my blog for more interesting facts about different things.

Hey Bloggers, as you can see I am doing a blog post in the school holidays and if you are wondering why am I doing a blog post in the school holidays instead of playing out side or watching t.v like a normal kid would do in the holidays then keep reading and I will tell you all about it. I am participating in this holiday blogging called Winter Learning Journey.

Question: Do you think women were not allowed to watch or compete in the Olympic games a fair rule or not? If so then why?

My Opinion Answer: I think this rule was made because men think that women are useless and that us girls could get hurt easily so they just wanna protect us from getting hurt. My personal opinion is that I think this rule was never made because I think that us girls can do what ever we want and that we have the exact same rights as the men. I also think that it's not a fair rule because girls could learn more like how men do but I am so glad that rule does not exist anymore because this kind of fitness help girls not just men.

  1. Hi Trinity,

Welcome to the Winter Learning Journey programme. I am so happy to see that you have decided to join us this holiday. It's great to have you as part of our team :)

It is also great to see that you have already posted two blogs. I enjoyed reading both of them, particularly the second one where I had the chance to learn what you think about the 'No Girls Allowed' rule. I must admit that I completely agree with you on this one. I do now think that it is fair for women to be excluded from the Olympics. We are just as strong and fit and capable of competing at the games. Fortunately, the modern day Olympics committee agrees with us and women are allowed to participate in the current version of the games. Whew!

Speaking of the current games, will you be able to watch any of the coverage of the Rio Olympics when it starts next month? I am going to try really hard to watch as much as I can. I love the Olympic! Do you?

Keep up with the great blogging this holiday, Trinity. We are so happy that you've joined us :)

    Cheers, Rachel
